Super Mario Kart

The game that started a franchise. Super Mario Kart for the super Nintendo System or SNES sold over 8 million copies in 1992-1993. The third most popular game sold on the SNES system.

Who would of thought you could place 8 Super Mario characters into a cart racing game??!!? You can play Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Donkey Kong Junior, Koopa Troopa, Yoshi, Bowser, and Toad. Mario and Toad are the all around karts. Dk jr and Bowser are the top speed karts. Yoshi and Princess Peach are the sprinters out of the box karts. Luigi and Toad can really really hug a corner.

This game had a ton of firsts. Split screen racing for two players with the back view to see if DK Jr. was hurling banana peels at you. Dislike those banana peels, hehe. Battle mode was just so sweet nothing like out jumping a shell or zeroing in on your enemy from a distance with a red turtle shell. My wife quit playing Mario Kart for a bit because I kept shelling her with red shells and she got mad, Lol. The ghost tracks are my favorite nothing like falling into a hole at full speed!

Everyone must have a copy Super Mario Kart a game way ahead of its time.
